Where Is Google?

Google’s data centers are things of legend. Now, there’s a map of them.

An interesting blog post on how a Google data center blossoms into being outlines the practical aspects of this otherwise virtual company. Apparently, jobs, tax breaks, community outreach, and all sorts of normal big company effects surround the establishment of a Google data center.

It’s also worth noting that these data centers are closely guarded by Google. They are strategic assets, not just bunkers for server farms.
