Credit should be given to the composer (Sir Arthur Sullivan), and I suspect the inspiration for this was not the Gilbert & Sullivan original but Tom Lehrer’s Elements Song. There’s a really nice Flash animation of the latter at http://www.privatehand.com/flash/elements.html.

You’re right, Arthur Sullivan is given due credit on the YouTube posting, and Tom Lehrer’s influence is undeniable. Lehrer’s is still the most durable parody of this tune, IMHO, but the situation seemed to suit this one well enough.
