Welcome David Smith, a New Chef in the Kitchen

David Smith, our newest Chef

Please join me in welcoming David Smith, Head of Innovation at the Plantwise Knowledge Bank (part of CABI), as the newest Chef in the Scholarly Kitchen. David’s addition provides an international flavor to the Kitchen, owing to his UK roots and location. It also adds the potential for some intriguing recipes, since David has a D.Phil in Molecular Biology from the University of York in the UK.

David has worked for Vitek Tracz at the Current Science Group, at BioMed Central, and at CABI (since 2001). He’s been involved with the SSP for a number of years, first as an attendee of the annual meeting, then as an annual meeting committee member, and most recently as co-chair of the 32nd and 33rd Annual Meetings.

Please join me in welcoming David to the Kitchen!

  1. Great move. I know David will finally put to rest any lingering lack of respect for British cooking.
