Correction: NLM Does Not Charge for PubMed Data

I made a mistake in my post the other day, stating that NLM charges a licensing fee for their PubMed database. They used to, but stopped this more than a decade ago. Because the fees had been so high, I’d never revisited the topic, and checking around, many others of my vintage still believe there are fees associated with this, so at least I wasn’t alone.

However, I was wrong.

I apologize to my friends at NLM for any problems caused, and for publishing some bad information.

I will link to this correction from the original post.
