Social, Mobile, Agile, Global: Are You Ready?Society for Scholarly Publishing

Proposals due by November 11, 2011

Here at the Scholarly Kitchen we continually cover aspects of change within publishing, research, and scholarly communication. This coming year, the Society for Scholarly Publishing Annual Meeting will be addressing these changes directly as well. What do scholarly publishers need to know to be ready for the changes and priorities of the social, mobile, agile, and global industry in which we participate?

We know you have opinions and perspectives, and we’d like to hear them!

This is your chance to shape the SSP program as a speaker or session organizer. The Call for Participation is open now through November 11, and we want to hear from you with a proposal for a session you would like to attend, organize, or lead.

The SSP’s 34th Annual Meeting will be held at the Marriott Crystal Gateway in Arlington, Virginia, May 30th to June 1st, 2012. It  will feature all aspects of the conference theme: Social, Mobile, Agile, and Global. Sessions proposed should focus on scholarly publishing, align with the theme, and offer the audience some tangible benefit.  For example:

  1. Trends and best practices
  2. Global shifts in research creation and production
  3. New business models
  4. Examples of successful product development efforts
  5. Examples of successful change management efforts
  6. Organizational impacts of addressing the theme areas

However, we want as many creative ideas as possible and would like to hear how you feel your session idea aligns with the theme and what benefit you feel it offers the audience.

To participate, submit your idea to the Call for Participation survey.  We look forward to hearing from you.
