In this episode of SSP’s Early Career Development Podcast, hosts Meredith Adinolfi (Cell Press) and Sara Grimme (Digital Science) chat about this year’s SSP Annual Meeting, ‘Inflection Point: Setting the Course for the Future of Scholarly Communication.’ They recap the energy and landmark attendance in Boston May 29-31.

Then, you’ll hear a podcast first: a compilation of on-site interviews with meeting attendees. Meredith, assisted in tech by Early Career Subcommittee Co-Chair Kate Lavallee, talk with some members of the SSP Board, first-timers, long-time volunteers, and more about their favorite parts of the meeting and some important takeaways for Early Career Professionals. Interviewees share their reactions to Deborah Blum’s opening keynote, ‘Publishers in the Age of Mistrust,’ the opening plenary discussion on ‘The Rise of the Machines,’ their thoughts around research integrity, AI, and an overall excitement to be back among their scholarly publishing peers and colleagues in-person.
