Dr. Abdullah Shams Bin Tariq teaches Physics at the University of Rajshahi, and works voluntarily for various research capacity-building initiatives of the country. Among his interests are access to knowledge-based resources, academic integrity, alternative routes of open access, high performance computing etc. He pioneered the Global Young Academy (GYA) Working Group on Global Access to Research Software and Co-chaired an Inter Academy Partnership (IAP) Working Group on Predatory Publishing and co-authored reports addressing these and other issues on publishing, assessment and open science at a global level.
Four Bangladeshi academics touch upon different aspects of academic publishing by linking them with the SDGs: accessing research; equity in co-authorship; editorial leadership; and SDG framing.
