Veronica Showers is the VP of Business Development at Access Innovations with more than 20 years of experience in the scholarly publishing industry, specializing in content hosting and discovery, as well as peer review and production technologies. She now focuses on preparing content for Generative AI through preprocessing work that emphasizes ontology application and strong content structure to support reliable AI-enabled use cases. She also builds AI agents that improve how users search for, surface, and explore scholarly information. Veronica is an industry speaker and leader and has contributed to organizations including the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), and the International Society of Managing and Technical Editors (ISMTE), and she served on the task force that helped establish the SSP Generations Fund.
