As the year draws to a close, it’s never too soon to look forward to what 2019 will bring. The Society for Scholarly Publishing’s (SSP’s) 41st Annual Meeting will be held next May 29th to 31st in San Diego, CA. Now is your chance to help mold the program by submitting your ideas for sessions!

Next year’s meeting, “Shaping the New Status Quo: Global Perspectives in Scholarly Publishing,” will reflect on the (literally) wide world of publishing. Tracks will include a focus on potential major shifts to the very essence of scholarly publishing, developments in tools and technology, the challenges of a broadening international academic marketplace, and strategies for smaller publishers. No matter where you fit within publishing, academia, or beyond, the meeting will be a great opportunity to make new connections, hear new perspectives, gain insights, and share knowledge. Sessions featuring new voices — ones that haven’t historically been heard in industry meetings — are particularly encouraged.

The deadline for submissions for concurrent sessions is this Friday, November 16. Submissions will remain open later for pre-meeting seminars, sponsored sessions, and previews presentations.

Full details about the meeting and how to submit can be found here. We look forward to your submissions, and hope to see you in San Diego!
