Kristen Ratan is the Principal of Strategies for Open Science (Stratos), working with research funders, open science projects and initiatives, universities, advocates, and infrastructure providers to accelerate fair, rapid, and complete open research communication. Kristen co-founded Incentivizing Collaborative Open Research (ICOR), Facilitates the NASEM Roundtable on Aligning Incentives for Open Science, and is on the boards of Rapid Science and ASAPbio. Kristen also serves on the advisory boards of PREreview, DataSeer, and Stencila.
Is open scholarship an honest signal of researcher integrity? We present preliminary evidence that data and code sharing, preprinting, and other open behaviors are indeed less common in papermill articles.
