The Chefs have decided to make the most of the end of summer, and we’re taking the week off through next Monday’s US Labor Day holiday. As Labor Day is a holiday meant to salute the Labor movement and the contributions that laborers have made to society, I always like to look for a “work” related song to leave here as a placeholder while we’re out.
This year, with Stevie Wonder’s recent jubilant appearance at the Democratic National Convention, we’ve had a lot of his music in rotation in our house. And while I’m partial to Stevie’s original studio version from 1970, I couldn’t pass up a chance to share this 2010 White House performance of the Beatles’ “We Can Work It Out”, with none other than Paul McCartney in the audience singing along.
Hope it brings you some joy and that you get a chance to enjoy the last slow week or so of summer before the fall meeting grind kicks in.
