The Generations Fund achieved its goal of $500,000 earlier this year, which SSP celebrated finishing the fund during the 2025 Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland. The fund is an endowment that will provide sustainable funding for the Society for Scholarly Publishing’s FellowshipMentoring, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility programs for many years to come.

Launched during the pandemic, the campaign brought together supporters from across the world, uniting more than 500 individuals and organizations around a shared goal. Supporters gave directly to the Fund, participated in SSP’s Virtual 5k, and bid on SSP members’ creations in the SSP Originals Auction.

“We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the incredible support we’ve received,” said Melanie Dolechek, Executive Director of SSP. “This achievement is not just a number—it’s a reflection of the passion and commitment our community has for cultivating diverse voices for a brighter future.”

Most recently, a generous group of SSP members agreed to provide monthly recurring gifts to help us finish the fund by the Annual Meeting. These dedicated individuals are:
