The team behind SeamlessAccess discuss why identity federation promotes security and privacy despite coordinated attacks on access systems
Following his passion for technology and services to support the research community, Hylke Koers recently joined the STM association as Chief Information Officer for STM Solutions. This is the new operational arm of STM which is tasked to develop and manage forward-thinking shared infrastructures and collaborative services for the scholarly communications community –– ranging from standards and services to help researchers access scholarly articles more easily, to helping ensure trust and quality in scholarly communication, to furthering Open Science. Before joining STM Solutions, Hylke lead the Research Data Management team at SURF and held a number of positions in the digital innovation and product management space at Elsevier. He has been an active contributor to several cross-stakeholder initiatives including FAIRsFAIR, the EOSC Architecture WG, and the RDA/WDS working group that developed Scholix. In what feels like a long time ago, Hylke was an active researcher and obtained a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Amsterdam.
