I’m very pleased to announce a new voice in The Scholarly Kitchen, Angela Cochran. Angela is the Director of Journals for the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and previously oversaw the production aspects of all ASCE’s journals, a monthly member magazine and books. Prior to that she was the managing editor for several American Cancer Society journals and currently serves as the Vice President of the Council of Science Editors and an ORCID Ambassador.

Long time readers of The Scholarly Kitchen likely know Angela from her occasional comments left on our posts over the last few years. Angela’s insights have always been welcome, as they tend to cut right to the heart of the practical matters of implementing new technologies and policies, with a real world focus on how to make things work. She adds an important voice from the not-for-profit research society publishing world. So help us welcome Angela aboard, and today we present her first post.

Welcome, Angela! What TSK really needs are more people from the scholarly book world. (I’m not volunteering, but could make suggestions.)

Congratulations, Angela! I’ve enjoyed reading your incisive comments and look forward to your posts.
