Monday May 27th is the Memorial Day holiday in the US, and a bank holiday in the UK. With the shortened week and many of us traveling to the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP) Meeting which begins on May 29, we’re taking a breather at The Scholarly Kitchen. If you’re coming to SSP, there may be as many as 14 or 15 Chefs in attendance, so please come say hi, tell us what you want to read more about in The Kitchen, volunteer to write that guest post you’ve been thinking about, and stick around to the end of the meeting for our closing session.
Since we’re heading to sunny San Diego just after the day that marks the unofficial beginning of summer (and the beginning of the season for white pants and shoes), I’ll leave you with a song to kickstart your summer from one of my favorite fictional bands, the fictional Sex Bob-Omb from the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. While the actors apparently played all the music, it was written by Beck, and it’s a gloriously fuzzy and crunchy way to enter into “Summertime”. See you in June.
