Panagiotis Kavouras is a senior researcher at the School of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He is a physicist, with an MSc and a PhD in Physics. For several years he had been involved in research on industrial solid waste management and on the characterization of physical and engineering properties of materials at the micro- and nano-scale. During the last six years he has focused his research interests on research integrity through his participation in several relevant EU-funded projects. He is involved in capacity-building and awareness-raising activities for research integrity in Greece by writing articles in Greek on several topics relevant to research integrity and by giving seminars and lectures about research integrity. He has the pleasure and the honor to be a member of the local organizing committee of the 8th World Conference on Research Integrity.
Research integrity extends beyond the trustworthiness of basic research results and outputs. How can we ensure that the translation and transformation of those research results into societal outputs and governance policies are equally trustworthy?
