Rebecca Benner (she/her) is a publishing professional with over 20 years of experience in STM journal publishing. Currently, she is the Managing Editor of Anesthesiology, the flagship journal of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. In this role, she is responsible for planning and implementing journal editorial strategies and editorial operations. For nine years, Rebecca was an instructor in George Washington University’s Master of Professional Studies in Publishing program, teaching courses on managing editorial staff and the professional editor role. Rebecca is a current Co-Chair of SSP’s Early Career Subcommittee and is committed to helping early career professionals have a successful start to their career journeys.
