Susan is winding down a long career working with publishers, societies, and technology services to develop and advance public relations, communications (internal and external), marketing, and business development programs. She is a co-founder of the Workplace Equity Project and co-author of Evaluating Equity in Scholarly Publishing, which mapped bias across the global scholarly publishing industry in 2018. She led global internal and external communications at scholarly and professional publisher Wiley for 20 years during a period of tremendous company and industry change. Over the past decade, she helped to build CHORUS as its first Communications & Marketing Director and served on its Communications Working Group. She has also contributed to pioneering initiatives such as Knowledge Unlatched, CLOCKSS, and Crossref.
