I’ve been enjoying this series from Design Asia, an architectural tour of the spectacular libraries of China. I was particularly struck by the seashore library of Beidaihe in the video below, as it combines two of my favorite things in the world, reading and beaches. The antiquarian in me has to question the impact of salt air (not to mention shifting sands and climate change) on such a structure and its contents, but the reader in me remains enthralled at the idea of an entire building of books and comfortable chairs so close to the soothing sounds of waves.

This looks like something straight out of a Studio Ghibli film!
Achei uma biblioteca formidável, penso que é um modelo para inspirar outros países a desenhar bibliotecas considerando seu ambiente local.
