2010 Internet Trends from Mary Meeker

Once again, Mary Meeker from Morgan Stanley has given us Internet trends to watch, along with 10 areas in which we need to question ourselves. Some highlights:

  • Mobile has arrived, and is storming the castle
  • Products must be fast + easy + fun
  • Where are the great online ads?
  • On-demand video is coming on fast
  • Are you ready for constant improvement?

Then there’s the whole question of who’s setting the pace. It’s another wild romp through data and trends.

Happy contemplating . . .

One Response to “2010 Internet Trends from Mary Meeker”

  1. A very concise and engrossing study indeed. I would be interested to see how these trends play out in the academic market and whether publishers are able to capitalise on these unique growth opportunities, especially where mobile platforms are concerned. I have been saying for a while now that mobile and smart phones have the scope, connectivity and affordability to enable publishers to penetrate challenging markets which have traditionally rejected physical product and will no doubt be resistant to the e-books concept. With mobile internet and e-commerce rapidly gaining share against rival formats, I think now is a good time for the industry to stand up and take notice of this growth area.
