Talk about living in a bubble. Because the authors and editors of the Scholarly Kitchen all have WordPress logins, we might not be seeing what some of you have been seeing — namely, Google AdWords ads on our blog.

So, this is a quick poll to see how widespread this phenomenon is. If you have been seeing these ads, you should know that we haven’t put them up and get no money for them. In fact, we are planning to move to a hosted version of WordPress where these will disappear, but first we want to know whether you’re seeing Google AdWords on our posts, and whether it bothers you. So, please answer this quick poll:

UPDATE: Despite the poll’s results (which show that Google AdWords aren’t necessarily repugnant to our users), we’ve opted to purchase an upgrade to the blog that will prevent these ads from showing. The Chefs feel it’s important for our users to know that we’re cooking as unpaid volunteers with independent opinions.
