The Association of College & Research Libraries, the Association of Research Libraries, and the Scholarly Publishing & Academic Resources Coalition (SPARC) have created a short video designed to familiarize researchers with some of the issues around author rights.

A slide presentation has also been posted (warning – the slide presentation is a big file [12.5MB] because if has embedded audio; basically, it tries to recreate the video).

With video now a dominant online medium with viral capacity, this seems a smart PR move. People may agree or disagree with the assertions or content, but I have to applaud the media savvy.
